Expansive vistas, world famous heather moorland, mountain hares, and the wreck of a second world war bomber.  Just some of the things in store on our men’s walk planned for 20th January 2018.

When and where?

We will meet at 9am prompt in the Snake Summit laybys, where the Pennine Way crosses the Snake Pass.  The grid reference is SK 088 928 or if you prefer Google maps enter 53.432876, -1.869008 and you will be pointed to the exact spot.  The walk will end in the same place at around midday.

How can I confirm my attendance?

All you need to do is fill in the consent form by Friday 12th January and you’re good to go.

There are fourteen places available.

What's Sure Footing?

Sure Footing is a Sheffield-based Christian charity bringing the good news of the gospel to young people in our area through outdoor adventure.  Please do have a look around the website to find out more.

This walk is being organised in order to give you a chance to spend quality time with other men in your church family and to raise money to support the work of Sure Footing.

You can make a one-off suggested donation of £10 by clicking the MyDonate link on the right hand side.  If you would prefer to use Stewardship, you can do that via the ‘Donate‘ section of our website.  Or if you would like to set up a regular donation to Sure Footing, you can also do that through our MyDonate or Stewardship pages.

None of the staff take payment for their work so every penny you raise will be spent meeting our charitable aims.

Who is leading?

Andy Stimson is leading the walk – he is fully qualified, experienced, and professionally insured!

What else do I need to know?

The minimum age to take part is 12 years old.  The walk is just over 6 km.

Note: Please be aware that although much of the walking is on the Pennine Way and is easy going, we will leave the path and move over rough terrain for just under one kilometre as well as crossing a small stream several times.

What you will need to bring with you:

  • Waterproof coat.
  • Waterproof trousers or spare trousers.
  • Walking boots with a good tread.
  • Any medicine you would normally have with you.
