When and where?

We will meet at 9am prompt in the Snake Summit laybys, where the Pennine Way crosses the Snake Pass.  The grid reference is SK 088 928 or if you prefer Google maps enter 53.432876, -1.869008 and you will be pointed to the exact spot.  The walk will end in the same place at around midday.

How can I confirm my attendance?

All you need to do is fill in the consent form by and you’re good to go.

What's Sure Footing?

Sure Footing is a Christian outdoor adventure charity based in Sheffield working with local groups of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. Please do have a look around the website to find out more.

This is a guided walk designed to form part of your walking group’s programme and to raise money to support the work of Sure Footing. 

You can make a donation by clicking the MyDonate link on the right hand side.  You will see that suggested donations start at £10.

None of the staff take payment for their work so every penny you raise will be spent meeting our charitable aims.

Who is leading?

Andy Stimson is leading the walk – he is fully qualified, experienced, and professionally insured.

What else do I need to know?

The minimum age to take part is 12 years old.  The walk is just over 6 km.

Note: Please be aware that although much of the walking is on the Pennine Way and is easy going, we will leave the path and move over rough terrain for just under one kilometre as well as crossing a small stream several times. 

What you will need to bring with you:

  • Waterproof coat.
  • Waterproof trousers or spare trousers.
  • Walking boots with a good tread.
  • Any medicine you would normally have with you.
