What does a Sure Footing day look like?
Before you come on a Sure Footing adventure you will receive an itinerary which takes into account the needs of your group, but the following general outline is intended to give you an idea of what you can expect.
A Sure Footing day starts when we meet out in the Peak District in the morning – normally around 9:30am – at the best location for your chosen adventure. You have a choice of four activities – abseil, scramble, climb or trek and most groups choose two different sessions – one for the morning and one for the afternoon. The first three work really well as half-day sessions, but the trek works particularly well as a whole-day activity. If you want to do any activity as a whole-day activity, though, you can also choose that option as well. You’ll want to check out our activity descriptions on the homepage before making your choices.
When we meet we spend some time – usually whilst playing a game – getting to know one another’s names before getting stuck in to the morning activity. At lunchtime it’s time to relax for a bit, eat some good food – which we can organise if required – and listen to a talk which will be appropriate for the age of your group. This normally takes place at Cliff College – an excellent venue for lunch and a rest/more games on the lawns – before heading back out for the afternoon session. We normally finish the day at the afternoon venue at 4pm.
If you have a question about how the day might work for your particular group then please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
